 THE SIMPLE PAST 


  • Regular verbs------------------> terminan en "ed"
for example
  1. need----- needed 
  2. visit------ visited     (se pronuncia como si terminara en "ID")

  1. finish---- finished      (se pronuncia como si terminara con "T")

  1. play---- played 
  2. stay---- stayed       (se pronuncia como si terminara con "D")

  • Irregular verbs----------------> not "ed" (se utilizan los irregular verbs)
for example: 
  1. eat----- ate 
  2. make---- made
  3. forget----- forgot 
  4. give----- gave

  • Past tense of verbs BE 
                                                ------------ were 
                        AFIRMATIVE 
estructura normal + regular verb adicionando "ed" 
example : Jimmy visited  the zoo on sonday

or 

estructura normal + irregular verb 
example : Jimmy ate popcron at the zoo 


NEGATIVE 
estructura normal + regular or irregular verbs + Didn't (el verbo no cambia) 
example : Jimmy didn't go to the zoo with his mom


INTERROGATIVE
regular and irregular verbs

example : Did Jimmy go to the zoo on friday?
